TSHRM is committed to serving the HR Leaders of Tomorrow. TSHRM is dedicated to working with students to enhance their education about human resources and to provide networking opportunities in the field. To assist SHRM in meeting its mission, TSHRM must “excite people to choose HR as a profession” and “improve the image of HR and the HR professional and the role they play in organizational strategy." For more information please contact us.
You can also go to the SHRM website for more information on student membership.
Students who have an interest in a career in the field of Human Resources are encouraged to join national SHRM and TSHRM. Membership provides networking opportunities, a subscription to HR Magazine, resources and information on the SHRM website, and the ability to apply for scholarships.
Once a student member graduates, he/she can convert their membership at a special rate. For more information about the conversion, please click here.
You are eligible for TSHRM student membership if:
- You are enrolled in the equivalent of at least six (6) credit hours per term in a degree-seeking program
- Your coursework, taken or planned, supports an interest in Human Resource Management
If a student is a National Student Member (which costs $35) the TSHRM membership fee will be $10 with the completion of the Primary Chapter Designation section of the membership application naming TSHRM as their primary chapter.
If a student is not a National Member the TSHRM membership fee will be $25.
All regular lunches/chapter meetings will be $10.
TSHRM currently sponsors the SHRM Chapter at The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and the SHRM Chapter at North Carolina Central University. For information on student chapters, please contact TSHRM's College Relations Director.
