President: Provides strategic and operational leadership to ensure the success of the organization. Recommends the Board of Directors, presides at meetings, and coordinates the various functional groups and committees.
President Elect:Performs duties of the President in his/her absence. Responsible for nominating and/or appointing of the following year’s Board of Directors. Assists the President with leading the organization so as to ensure a smooth transition between Boards.
Vice President, Membership: Develops and implements strategies to recruit and retain members. Primary responsibilities include approving chapter membership applications and coordinating member-related activities such as managing the annual membership renewal campaign. Contributes timely, relevant information to newsletter, website and to the membership.
Vice President, Programs: Develops and implements strategies to educate members and provide networking opportunities through monthly meetings, roundtable discussions, seminars, etc. Responsibilities include coordinating program speakers, meeting facilities/logistics, surveying members' views on monthly meetings/related activities, etc. Contributes timely, relevant information to newsletter, website and to the membership.
Treasurer: Develops and implements strategies to assure the financial health of the chapter. This includes strategies for revenue generation as well as maintaining financial records and disbursing funds.
Secretary, Chapter: Responsible for areas including keeping the minutes and official records of the chapter's board meetings, writing correspondence on behalf of the chapter, and coordinating details such as ordering letterhead, envelopes, etc.
Secretary, Finance: Develops and implements strategies to assure the financial health of TSHRM. This includes planning strategies for revenue generation, maintaining financial records and developing and maintaining budgets. Responsible for collecting dues/income, paying all bills and producing monthly financial statements to the Board of Directors.
Director, Communications : Develops and implements strategies to provide information to TSHRM members on a regular basis. This primarily includes having total responsibility for activities associated with the compilation and distribution of the chapter newsletter and maintaining current information on the chapter website.
Director, College Relations: Develops and implements strategies for student SHRM chapters affiliated with TSHRM. Responsibilities include establishing student chapters at an accredited college or university within the service area of TSHRM, providing guidance and assistance to the student chapter President in coordinating student chapter activities, providing opportunities for student chapter members to participate in TSHRM activities, and developing mentoring opportunities between student members and active TSHRM members.
Director, Diversity: Initiates chapter diversity goals and activities such as workshops on the benefits of diversity in the workplace, the development of mentoring programs with member organizations, etc. Contributes timely, relevant information to newsletter, website and to the membership.
Director, Governmental Affairs: Develops and implements strategies on communicating national, state and local legislative regulations to chapter members. This includes keeping membership informed on pertinent Human Resources-related legislation, and communicating ways that members can express their opinions on behalf of the chapter to the appropriate legislative bodies. Contributes timely, relevant information to newsletter, website and to the membership.
Director, HRCI Certification: Responsible for providing members with information about upcoming PHR/SPHR certification examinations. Coordinates certification study group for interested members twice each year in conjunction with the Human Resource Certification Institute's bi-annual PHR/SPHR certification examinations. Contributes timely, relevant information to newsletter, website and to the membership.
Director, Volunteer: The Volunteer Director is the point of contact for all members interested in volunteer opportunities with TSHRM. The position develops and implements plans for recruitment, placement, training, retention and recognition of volunteers.
Director, Workforce Readiness: Coordinates opportunities for members' organizations to support community programs aimed at preparing youth for tomorrow's workplace through activities such as internships, mentoring programs, employee educational lunch-time seminars, etc. Contributes timely, relevant information to newsletter, website and to the membership.
Board Advisor: Through their experience and leadership qualities, these individuals provide overal guidance to the chapter. They may also assist other Board members and chair special projects. Contributes timely, relevant information to the newsletter, website and to the membership.
Director, Sponsorship: Responsible for securing sponsors to provide revenue for the chapter in order to provide quality programs. This position will promote the chapter and the benefits of being a Sponsor throughout the year at monthly meetings and other HR events.
